The Irish Development Education Agency (IDEA) has worked with Clare Lynch Design since 2020 and during that time the studio has worked with the existing brand to produce annual reports, strategy documents and events materials.
Recently, the organisation wanted to find a way to promote the innovation of its members and partners within the sector as well as expand its existing brand toolkit. Through an iterative process with the IDEA team, Clare Lynch Design designed a tabloid-size publication for distribution. The existing brand colours were expanded to include a palette for each main work area within the organisation and two additional typefaces were chosen for specific use within the newspaper which will be produced annually.
Special attention was paid to creating a piece that followed standards for sustainable production methods and the environmentally conscious guidelines as set out by Ireland's Design Declares initiative. A limited digital run was produced to cut back on waste; a cellulose compostable bag was used for the packaging and a lightweight recycled paper was chosen.
To promote the first edition, an animated version of the cover has been produced for social media and to send to IDEA staff and members.
